Security Update: Heartbleed bug

We want to assure you that the security of your information is a top priority for VRS. Our security team is closely monitoring the Heartbleed bug situation and has validated that our systems are not affected by this bug. Additionally, we have implemented countermeasures to prevent the attack from being attempted on any varetire.org sites. VRS has multiple layers of security and tools in place to protect against potential threats like Heartbleed. We have contacted our defined contribution service provider (ICMA-RC), who also verified its product is not vulnerable to the bug and the website is safe. We recommend that you update all online passwords regularly, including the myVRS and defined contribution sites.
