What better time than the beginning of the new year to discover the latest online resource for employers? Coming in February, the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) will roll out myVRS for Employers, your version of the myVRS secure online system currently available to members.
myVRS for Employers is a secure online system for those who counsel employees regarding their VRS benefits and retirement. When you log on, you get detailed information about your employees’ VRS member records and the VRS benefits that you provide your employees.
myVRS for Employers is replacing QuickAccess. myVRS for Employers will give you the same views you have in myVRS for members, with all of the QuickAccess features designed just for employers, and more.
Beginning in February, you’ll be able to attend a myVRS for Employers Webinar, which will show you how to register for, navigate and use the new system. The Webinar will be a 90-minute live audio and video presentation delivered over the Internet. All you need to participate is a touchtone phone and Internet connection. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
A series of Webinars will be offered from February 12 – 28. VRS will send an e-mail to primary HR contacts soon with more information, including the schedule and instructions on how to register for a Webinar.
myVRS for Employers lets authorized employers view information that is consistent with the way your employees see it in myVRS for members. If you’re a QuickAccess user, you’ll find even more information and features in myVRS for Employers. When you log on to myVRS for Employers, you’ll be able to:
Like myVRS for members, myVRS for Employers also provides the “Explain This Page” feature, which opens a separate window explaining what’s on the page you’re viewing and defining terms. You don’t have to go to a help menu or leave the page you’re viewing. Moreover, myVRS for Employers has been built so that VRS can add new features, such as secured messaging and a variety of online reports, in future releases.
Perform at least one member look-up in QuickAccess before January 30. This will reserve a one-time only access code for you to use to register for myVRS for Employers. VRS will mail the access code to you in February.
If you miss the January 30 deadline, you’ll need to submit an Authorization of Employer Contacts (VRS-67)
45kb to request access to myVRS for Employers.
If you’re not registered to use QuickAccess and your job requires you to access VRS member information, you won’t want to miss out on the new myVRS for Employers. Stay tuned to the VRS Web site and Employer Update for information on how you, too, can become an authorized user of myVRS for Employers.
