Description of Benefit
Provides income replacement in the event of short-term or long-term disability.
Eligibility for Benefit
Members may use the balance of family and personal leave to extend active employment status to retain coverage. Granting of sick leave and family and personal leave ceases while on leave without pay.
Benefits upon Return to VRS Employment
Granting of VSDP sick and family and personal leave resumes, with new balances. Amount of the leave depends on months of state service earned as of January 10 of the year it is granted.
