VRS Selects PrinceGoldsmith to Lead CIO Search

RICHMOND, Va., May 6 —The Virginia Retirement System (VRS) Board of Trustees today announced the selection of New York-based PrinceGoldsmith LLC to assist in the search for a new chief investment officer for the $43-billion public pension system.

“PrinceGoldsmith has extensive experience in recruiting investment management executives,” said Dr. John M. Albertine, chairman of the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Search Committee of the Board of Trustees. “We look forward to working with PrinceGoldsmith as we begin a national search to fill this important leadership role at VRS.”

Chief Investment Officer Nancy C. Everett announced in March that she will join General Motors Asset Management as chief investment officer, effective June 1, 2005.

Marylin L. Prince and Joseph B. Goldsmith co-founded the executive search firm in 2000. This firm is well known for its executive investment recruitments.

VRS serves more than 540,000 members and retirees as well as nearly 800 public employers in Virginia. It is the 27th largest public or private pension system in the United States and the 51st largest internationally.
