GFOA Recognizes VRS for Excellence
Richmond, VA, November 23, 2005—The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) recently recognized the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) for its fiscal year 2004 annual financial report with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Finance Reporting (CAFR).
This is the 23rd consecutive year that VRS has received the GFOA's highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. VRS Director Robert P. Schultze said, "VRS has set high standards for financial reporting, and we appreciate the recognition and honor that GFOA has provided the agency by recognizing these efforts through the award."
GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 16,000 government finance professionals.
