Have You Met The New Web Site?
Users of the VRS Web site have something new to look at - and navigate, search, find and print.
What changed?
The VRS Web site has been redesigned to complement the easy-to-use navigation and design elements of myVRS, the secure, online system that allows you access to your member information, as well as other VRS communications. The redesign lets VRS communicate a more consistent image to you, our customer.
What's new?
- The old site required you to click through a couple of links to get to the information you wanted. Now you see all the major topics on the homepage and can navigate to them with less effort.
- The pages have been livened up with color and more images to help orient you to the content.
- Breadcrumbs – those links directly beneath the “Employers,” “Members” and “Retirees” tabs – add another way to navigate within different sections of the site. The customer tabs also appear on every page.
- When you select the “Publications” or “Forms” link, you receive a list of all VRS publications and forms. You can view the entire list or use a “Show Me” drop-down menu to hone the list to specific topics such as “Benefits Information” or “Service Retirement Forms.”
- Print-friendly pages are in a simple black-and-white format that eliminates navigation elements, providing a readable hard copy of the information on the screen.
- You can now search the site no matter where you are. Each page provides you the search function in the upper right corner. Enter your keyword or keywords in the space provided. For advanced searches, select the + icon or “Advanced Search Options” from the search page. You can search the entire site or just Web pages, forms or publications.
Fortunately, some things haven’t changed:
- Same address: www.varetire.org
- Same Web site accessibility standards based on the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG 1.0). Without this standard, some users with disabilities would be unable to access information on our Web site.
- Most bookmarked pages from the old site will continue to work.
- Content is easy to locate.
