You can use the Transitional Benefits Program Calculator to calculate the amount of credit that may be applied to an employee’s age or service credit. Enter the required information and select View Credit. The results page will display the total dollar amount of the transitional severance benefit payment and the number of additional credits that can be used to enhance the member’s VRS retirement benefit. You also can review the calculations.
If a member chooses to receive an enhanced retirement benefit, you can use the calculator results to certify an involuntary separation from employment instead of completing the VRS-11B. Print out the results page and submit a signed copy to VRS with the Application for Service Retirement (VRS-5)

You can use myVRS for Employers to determine the enhanced retirement benefit using the results from the Transitional Benefits Calculator. When using the benefit estimator, select WTA/Transitional Benefits Program as the type of estimate.
