What’s Coming Next for Modernization?
Posted: December 6, 2010
Modernization will significantly expand online capabilities and access to data for employers through a new Web-based technology called myVRS Navigator. The technology will be accessible through any computer, PC or Mac, that can connect to the Internet. You won’t be restricted to special software. As we move towards the initial implementation of myVRS Navigator, here’s what you can expect in the coming year:
- Certification – All employers will undergo a certification process to ensure they can access myVRS Navigator online. In addition, employers who plan to submit data via a batch file upload will submit test data for VRS to certify for compatibility with the new technology.
- Conversion – VRS will convert existing data in employer and employee records to a format compatible with the new technology system. When you log into myVRS Navigator for the first time, information for your employees and your organization will be available.
- Training – VRS is designing courses to instruct you in new ways of conducting business with VRS using myVRS Navigator. The courses you take will reflect the role you play in administering your organization’s employee benefits, from enrolling new employees to certifying retirement applications. These courses will be available online through VRS University several months in advance of the implementation of myVRS Navigator, so that you have ample time to learn the new system.
