I am a deferred member
with less than five years of service. Can I leave my money at VRS?
Yes. However, with less than five years of VRS service, you are not eligible
for a future retirement benefit. If you leave the money in your account, return
to a VRS-covered position and become vested, then you become eligible for a
retirement benefit.
Can I take a refund of the money in my retirement account?

How can I find out the amount of money in my account so I can decide if I want
a refund?
Your member contribution account earns 4 percent interest, compounded each
June 30. To learn about the amount in your account as of June 30, 2010:
- Dial 1-888-827-3847 and select option 2. From here you can access the automated response system and use your password to listen to the amount in your account. If you are a first-time user of the automated system, follow the prompts to set up your account.
- Log-in to myVRS with your username and password. If you have not used myVRS before, register for myVRS to view your account information. If you have forgotten your log-in details, you can reset your username and password.
