Medicare Information
If you are eligible for Medicare, regardless of your age, you must secure both Hospital Part A and Medical Part B of Medicare. You also must select a health insurance plan that coordinates with your Medicare benefits.
If you continue to participate in the State Retiree Health Benefits Program and enroll in one of the Medicare coordinating plans that provides prescription drug coverage, you will be automatically enrolled in Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage.
Contact your local Social Security Administration before retirement to enroll in Medicare. Remember that Hospital Part A and Medical Part B of Medicare are required to ensure you receive the full benefit allowance from your plan.
