Long-Term Care Enrollment Begins Oct. 18 for Eligible Employees
The Commonwealth of Virginia (COV) Voluntary Group Long Term Care Insurance Program will hold an enrollment period from October 18 through December 10 for eligible school instructional and management employees and political subdivision employees. If your school division or political subdivision board elected the program before July 16 and your employees did not participate in the spring 2010 enrollment period, active employees under age 80 will be eligible to apply without medical underwriting during the fall enrollment. Their spouses under age 66 can apply for coverage with limited underwriting.
Note: If you elected the program and participated in the spring enrollment, your employees are not eligible for the fall enrollment. However, they can apply at any time subject to full medical underwriting. In addition, state employees and faculty and staff of public institutions of higher education, who were offered the opportunity to enroll in the spring, are not eligible for the fall enrollment. However, any state employees who are not enrolled can apply at any time subject to full medical underwriting.
