State Police Officers (SPORS), Sheriffs, Virginia Law Officers (VaLORS) or Political Subdivisions With Hazardous Duty Coverage
Includes state police officers, sheriffs, regional jail superintendents, Virginia law officers and political subdivision employees eligible for enhanced hazardous duty coverage.

a member who would like to elect the Advance Pension Option.
a member with JRS service in your record.
a member covered by the Hazardous Duty Alternate Option.
a Plan 1 member not vested on January 1, 2013.
a Plan 2 member hired prior to January 1, 2013.
a member hired on or after January 1, 2014, into a hazardous duty position now in a non-hazardous position.
a hybrid member who elected to transfer from either Plan 1 or Plan 2.
How to Select Plan Type
Your membership date is before July 1, 2010. You were vested as of January 1, 2013.
Your membership date is before January 1, 2014 and you were not vested as of January 1, 2013 or your membership date is on or after January 1, 2014,
and you are covered under SPORS or VaLORS, or have enhanced hazardous duty benefits as a political subdivision employee.
You are a new member not credited with VRS service whose membership date is on or after January 1, 2014.
