VRS Receives Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting

RICHMOND, September 13, 2019 — The Virginia Retirement System (VRS) Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) has received an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This is the third award for the PAFR, which has been honored in each of its three years of publication.

The PAFR is a concise summary of financial, investment and statistical information derived from the VRS Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). GFOA commended VRS for the reader appeal, understandability and distribution of the PAFR.

GFOA is a professional association serving nearly 19,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and other finance practitioners.

For more information on the awards and GFOA, visit www.gfoa.org/cafr and www.gfoa.org/pafr.
