Is there someone I can talk to for help with creating a financial plan?
Yes. VRS offers financial planning services that let you talk directly with a financial professional about your money and goals.
These services are provided by Voya Financial. Voya is the record keeper for VRS’ defined contribution plans and also supports members by offering financial education and planning help. You do not need to participate in a defined contribution plan to use these services.
You can start with a free financial education and coaching session. This is a one-on-one conversation where you can ask questions and get help thinking through things like:
- Budgeting.
- Managing debt.
- Planning for retirement income.
- Saving for education.
- Social Security.
- Health care costs in retirement.
The session is focused on your situation and helping you decide what to do next.
If you want a more detailed review, you also have the option to complete a comprehensive financial plan for a fee. This includes a deeper look at your finances and typically takes place over several conversations.
Free financial education webinars are also available throughout the year on a range of topics.
