The Honorable Don Scott, Speaker of the House of Delegates, has announced the appointment of Rokasha Edmondson, Ed. D., as a new member of the VRS Board of Trustees.
Dr. Edmondson is a distinguished educator in Hampton City Schools, as well as an author, mentor, and community leader in professional, civic and service organizations. She holds an associate degree in Early Childhood Care and Education, a bachelor’s degree in K–12 Special Education and Elementary Education, master’s degrees in Teacher Leadership and Educational Leadership, and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction.
Dr. Edmondson’s leadership and service have earned numerous recognitions. Her honors include being named Cooper Elementary School's 2025 Teacher of the Year and receiving the 2025 Hometown Hero Award from DoGooders of Hampton Roads.
She is a native of Danville, Virginia.
Her appointment fills a vacant position on the board and will run through February 2027.
