If you’re in the Hybrid Retirement Plan, be aware that your plan has an auto-escalation feature. Your contributions to the defined contribution component of the plan will increase automatically by 0.5% every three years until you reach the maximum 4% contribution level.

The next automatic increase takes effect January 1, 2026. If you are eligible for auto-escalation but don’t wish to save more for your future, you can opt out between December 1 and December 31 by 4 p.m. Just log in to your DCP Account or call 877-327-5261. Review the Auto-Escalation Guide for details.

Waiting for your voluntary contribution amount to ramp up automatically to 4% can take more than 20 years. And until you reach the max, you’re leaving employer matching dollars on the table. Consider growing your future benefit by maximizing your savings rate today.
